Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Over 270 years.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a faith community.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Pastor Serena Sellers has been ordained since 1989 and is a graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. She is the Dean of the Lutheran Churches in Upper Bucks County, and previously served as the Assistant to the Bishop under two administrations. Mr. Ed Bara, our music director, serves on the music faculty at Muhlenberg College. Ed is a soloist, recording artist, and choral singer with numerous ensembles. He has performed in thirteen countries in such venues as Carnegie Hall, The Academy of Music, Radio City Music Hall, St. Stephen's Cathedral (Vienna), The National Cathedral (Washington, DC), and The Grand Opera House (Wilmington, DE). Ed has performed over forty lead roles with various opera companies, orchestras, and ensembles.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our community includes people with many differing perspectives. We enjoy vigorous dialogue, and don't expect everyone to agree. Our faith is a faith that seeks to learn and grow through exploration, not indoctrination. We are a community that sees our diverse points of view as a strength. We are very active in service, and fellowship. We reach out to serve the needy with hands on projects and activities, and we invite the community in at our 5K for cancer, and our weekly NA meetings. We also reach toward one another with picnics, study groups (including a monthly bible study in a local bar), and active softball and volleyball teams. The most important relationship we develop is our relationship with God. We have an outdoor prayer labyrinth that is available for use 24/7. We provide a brief (approximately 30 min.) communion service early each Sunday, and a later service that includes choirs, and special music. Special worship and concert opportunities are offered as well.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one church building, but since our church is actually our people, we have many, many locations throughout the week. We are always glad to expand by including new people in our community.

"I experience God's love here."
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Mark 12:28b-32 "Which commandment is the first of all?" Jesus answered, "The first is, "Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is this, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
